Dr Greg Gardner, from Cape Hill Medical Centre, Smethwick, and Dr Laurence Crutchlow, from Kingfisher Practice, Walsall, have told expectant mothers that they will not consent to terminations.
Dr Gardner, a GP for 20 years, said he believes all abortions are harmful to women's physical and mental health.
And Dr Crutchlow says approving a termination would be against his religious beliefs as a Church of England Christian.[...]
My reasons concern ethics and good medical practice. I have never seen a study which shows abortion is good for a woman.
"Yet there are numerous studies which show it is harmful to mental health and long term physical health.
"Other GPs in the practice I work for do refer women for abortions. But I feel to do so would be to collaborate in the killing of a child.
