Pro-lifers jailed after being arrested while passing out pro-life literature on campus of College of Alameda
In the Wednesday incident, a group from Campus Life Tour, an outreach project of Survivors, a Christian, pro-life activism organization dedicated to educating and activating high school and college age individuals, arrived on the College of Alameda campus and quietly held signs, distributed literature and talked calmly with students. But, within moments of their arrival, a campus security guard attempted to dispel a group of curious onlookers, ushering them away from the displays, said a news release from Life Legal Defense Foundation, which is representing Survivors. The Alameda Sheriff's Department was called and instructed the group to leave, threatening them with arrest, said the release.
"When the members of Campus Life Tour refused to stop their lawful free speech activity and leave the public school property, the three activists handing out literature to students were handcuffed and arrested," said the Life Legal Defense news release. "When the individuals being arrested repeatedly asked why they were being taken into custody, the arresting deputy responded that he was just doing what the school president asked him to do."

Tax-funded Planned Parenthood staffer on infants left to die after induced labor: "It does happen."
October 2008 undercover video shot by Students for Life uncovers truth about babies born alive during abortions
Arlington, VA - Today, Students for Life of America
(SFLA) released undercover footage of a nurse at a Title X, federally funded Freehold, New Jersey Planned Parenthood facility describing how an abortion would be performed on a 22 week unborn child. View the video here
. In case this video is removed by Youtube, you may also view it on Eyeblast at the following link: http://www.eyeblast.tv/public/video.aspx?v=e46UqG8zSU
In the footage, the Planned Parenthood nurse describes to the pregnant woman that the abortion would entail delivering her son alive and, after the woman asks if the baby can be born alive, the nurse admits that "it does happen, but it wouldn't be able to survive on its own so eventually the baby does die."
In August, an abortion survivor, Gianna Jessen, was featured in an ad asking why, as an Illinois State Senator, Barack Obama voted 4 times against a bill that would have protected babies born alive during an abortion called the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act. The bill was drafted after Chicago nurse Jill Stanek discovered that babies were being born alive during abortions and left to die.
The SFLA video includes an audio clip of Senator Obama speaking out against the bill in 2002 on the Illinois Senate floor attacking the bill as burdening "the original decision of the woman and the physician to induce labor and perform an abortion." A statement which is worrisome given Senator's Obama co-sponsorship of the Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). The act would state that it is the policy of the Univted States that every woman has the right to abortion and would invalidate any restrictions that have been placed on abortion such as parental notification, informed consent, waiting periods, and abortion clinic health and safety regulation laws. To learn more about FOCA, go here
As evidenced in the SFLA video, the practice of allowing babies born alive during abortions to die, which is defined as infanticide, is still being practiced today. The video released today further validates the undercover video that SFLA obtained of infamous late-term abortionist, George Tiller, in March of 2008 stating, "Let's say you have 15 or 16, you had one slip out with a heartbeat; that is not a viable fetus, but that is born alive or has a heartbeat." View that video here
Kristan Hawkins, SFLA's Executive Director remarked, "I was absolutely stunned when the Planned Parenthood nurse revealed that allowing a baby to die after being born alive is a common practice for abortionists. No one should defend this practice."Students for Life of America
is urging Congress to immediately investigate Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion chain and recipient of over $300 million federal taxpayer dollars each year. In addition, they are asking Senator Obama to explain and reconsider his opposition to giving human rights to babies born alive during abortions and his co-sponsorship of FOCA.

Ambulance transports another patient from Tiller's abortion mill to hospital
Eyewitness Dale Weldy, a volunteer for the Kansas Coalition for Life, reported that a woman with an IV was loaded into Sedgwick County ambulance number 30 and transported away from the abortion clinic at approximately 8:05 AM. According to Weldy, the ambulance never used its lights or siren.
Cheryl Sullenger of Operation Rescue was notified and arrived at Wesley Medical Center in time to photograph the same ambulance that Weldy saw leave Tiller's abortion clinic. In addition, she was able take photos of Tiller's personal Jeep parked in the emergency room parking lot.
Tiller was joined at the emergency room by his employee, Diane Warren, who noticed Sullenger and called out to her, "You're dying to know, aren't you!"
In addition to Tiller, abortionist Susan Robinson, a part-time Tiller employee from Ukiah, California, was on the schedule and may have been involved in the botched abortion. The condition of the abortion patient is unknown.

Chuck Norris: I'm voting for those not yet born
Thomas Jefferson wrote in 1809, "The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only legitimate object of good government." He was not, of course, writing about the America of today, with state-sanctioned and even subsidized abortion, and a movement to promote the killing of the elderly through euthanasia. But he could have been. His belief in what should be "the first and only legitimate object of government" should still stand. Like Jefferson, our next president needs to uphold those same concerns, not say that such arenas are "above his pay grade." If he and his administration won't protect the rights of the living (even in the womb), then who will? A left-leaning Congress?
The truth is: If Obama is elected, we will place a man in the highest office in the land who has the most liberal views and voting record on abortion of any president in American history. As a state senator in Illinois, he led opposition three years in a row (2001-2003) to a bill similar to the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act, which prevents the killing of babies unintentionally left alive by abortion. He also opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion and strongly disapproved of the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. He does not support the Hyde amendment, which prohibits taxpayer funding of abortion through Medicaid. He also voted to block a bill that would have required a doctor to notify at least one parent before performing an abortion on a minor girl from another state. Before a Planned Parenthood action fund last year, Obama promised to give first priority as president to the signing of the Freedom of Choice Act, which would make partial-birth abortion legal again. Strangely, Obama even once said he would not want his daughters to be "punished with a baby" due to an unwanted pregnancy. With the next president likely adding two justices to the U.S. Supreme Court, it is clear that, as president, Obama will appoint and support the most liberal judges and legal eagles, resulting in a pro-abortion advantage in our courts that will push abortion liberties to every extent of the law and land.[..]
Winning the election is not just about what the underdogs, like John McCain and Sarah Palin – two maverick pro-life advocates, should do. But it's about what the citizens, who are fighting for the underdogs, can do. It's up to We the People to stand up, go back to the basics and once again vote our values.

:Cornell University College of Engineering Staff Stifle Student Free Speech
Faclities Staff Remove Previously Approved Pro-Life Display
Ithaca, NY - Less than one hour after the Cornell Coalition for Life (CCFL) set up their "Elena Campaign" signs in the Engineering Quad, the signs were abruptly removed by Dawn Warren, an administrative assistant, and taken to the Facilities Office of the College of Engineering. The "Elena Campaign" is a series of light-hearted educational signs with pictures and text detailing the biological development of an unborn child. Though CCFL had gone through the proper administrative avenues to get approval for the display, Warren removed the signs without permission because she did not personally approve of the content.
Tristen Cramer, senior at Cornell University and former president of CCFL stated, "It borders on the absurd that the facilities staff at the College of Engineering finds photos depicting biological fetal development to be controversial or offensive. Furthermore, it speaks volumes that this member of the Cornell staff chose to censor speech she disagreed with rather than facilitating an open discussion about the issue."
Together, Dawn Warren and Cathy Dove, Associate Dean for Administration in the College of Engineering, attempted to prevent members of CCFL from retrieving the signs. Only when the Cornell Police were brought in did Warren and Dove relinquish the property. Even then, Dove tried to intimidate the students and requested that the signs not be put up again, referencing an "unwritten policy" among the College of Engineering to prevent "opinionated displays."
Katherine Weible, junior at Cornell University and current president of the CCFL said, "As an engineering student, I am surprised and disappointed that some of our staff would censor the issues that we are exposed to. In their claims that all engineering displays must be engineering related, they are severely short-changing all engineering students."
"The Cornell community should be aware that our right to free speech regarding relevant current issues is hindered by this so-called 'unwritten policy,'" said Cramer.

California parental notification on abortion measure races to 52-33% Lead, according to new Maris poll
The Marist College Institute for Public Opinion conducted a survey from September 28 to October 5 and found the parental notification initiative holds a 19 percentage point lead among likely voters, 52% to 33%.
The survey shows that Proposition 4 has majority support among women (55% to 31%), Latinos (61% to 27%), those who are married (59% to 25%) and those age 45 or older (55% to 28%). The initiative also leads among men (49% to 34%).
The only demographic opposed to the notification for abortion are likely voters 18 to 29 years old, who oppose it on a 52 to 41 percentage point leader.
The poll also shows that Proposition 4 leads by double digits in every region of California except the Bay Area, where a plurality of 48% is opposed.
Among California likely voters, 75% say that parents or legal guardians have the right to know if their underage daughter is seeking an abortion.

Mother gets 25 years jail for killing newborn baby girl and dumping her body in a trash bin
Judge Alice Hills sentenced Jacquelin Linaras, following the 25-year-old's conviction last month of first-degree murder and assault on a child causing death.
A San Fernando Superior Court jury deliberated less than two hours before finding Linaras guilty. Deputy District Attorney Carolyn McNary said Linaras killed her newborn girl shortly after giving birth on May 1, 2006, by hitting the infant's head on a cabinet. Linaras then dumped the body in a trash bin near her home in the Polynesian Mobile Home Park in Santa Clarita. The body was discovered May 2 by a resident searching for recyclables.

Football legend Gene Stallings would pick his Down Syndrome son over 'normal' child
"The two saddest days of my life were when he was born and when he died," Stallings said. "When he was born, I was devastated, and when he died, I was even more devastated."
That's because, Stallings said, he did not know then what he knows now.
"If the good Lord asked if he could give me a perfectly normal child or Johnny, I'd pick Johnny every time," Stallings said. "No doubt about it."
He added that ignorance must account for the fact that 90 percent of women who are pre-natally diagnosed with carrying a child with Down syndrome choose to abort the child.
"They just don't know what they are missing," said Stallings, who now works on his farm in Powderly, Texas, and gives motivational speeches. "Johnny was 46 years old and didn't know a bad word. He saw the good in everyone. He loved going to church on Sundays and Wednesdays, and he remembered everyone's name."

But at the time it seemed like the right thing to do. We went to counseling before we went through with this thing. We were lucky in that we were well set up to get answers. And the counselor said that whatever you decide, either way, this could be very destructive for a couple if they kept the child and if they did not.
"You know what is the sickest part of all? He was about 20 weeks along. We went through the whole child-birth process after the fact. Deformed child cannot sue doctor
, Ontario court rules
A Toronto doctor cannot be sued by a child born with serious deformities caused by a drug that was prescribed to its mother, the Ontario Court of Appeal ruled yesterday.
In an important 3-0 ruling, the court said that doctors cannot owe a duty of care to unborn children because their primary obligation is to their female patients.
"Because the woman and her fetus are one – both physically and legally – it is the woman whom the doctor advises and who makes the treatment decisions affecting herself and her future child," Madam Justice Kathryn Feldman wrote on behalf of Mr. Justice Michael Moldaver and Mr. Justice Russell Juriansz.
The court also said that granting a child the right to sue doctors for damage caused before birth would also interfere with a woman's right to an abortion. The ruling closed the door on a lawsuit launched by Jaime Paxton, her parents – Dawn and Paul – and her three siblings.
The family alleged that Shaffiq Ramji negligently prescribed Ms. Paxton, 36, the acne drug Accutane, which is known to cause severe defects in fetuses.
Jaime was born without a right ear, and with portions of her face paralyzed.

YouTube bans video catching Planned Parenthood covering up statutory rape
ARLINGTON, VA - On Monday, October 6th, Students for Life of America (SFLA) released a video on YouTube exposing a Charlotte, North Carolina Planned Parenthood covering up statutory rape of a young girl. And on Wednesday, October 8th, SFLA re-posted an edited version of the video on YouTube.
SFLA's video has been posted on EyeBlast and is currently the most popular video on the site.To view the video on EyeBlast, go here (please note that due to EyeBlast space limiations the video had to be uploaded in 2 parts):Part 1Part 2
The view has also been re-posted on YouTube, without any music, and will remain on the site until it is taken down for a 2nd time: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MewVAfa77I8
Unfortunately, this is not the first time YouTube has censored pro-life videos. In August, YouTube took down 4 videos posted by Live Action Films exposing Planned Parenthood officials accepting racist donations citing the same reason.
SFLA's Executive Director, Kristan Hawkins remarked "YouTube's bias is clearly visible with these actions. If they are going to allow a video to permeate their site which offends millions of Christians (See the Eucharist Desecration Video here) worldwide despite being flagged by thousands for its hateful and violent manner, there should be no reason to take down videos which expose the truth about the nation's largest abortion provider. YouTube is no longer a friend to pro-lifers." She further remarked that YouTube is "acting more like the oppressive Chinese government than an independent company operating in America."
On YouTube's website, it explains that inappropriate content means the following, none of which explain the reasons for the banning of the SFLA video:
"Graphic sexual activity" describes content which contains actual visible or implied sex acts.
"Nudity" refers to exposed or see-through coverage of areas typically covered by a bathing suit or underwear. Sometimes nudity is allowed on YouTube, depending on the context.
- Suggestive, but without nudity
"Suggestive" content refers to materials with sexual themes that do not necessarily depict sexual activity or nudity. Sexually suggestive content may not be suitable for all audiences and may include fetish-related content.
- Shocking or disgusting content
"Shocking or disgusting content" refers to disturbing imagery, such as graphic depictions of violence, accidents or gore, which lack an appropriate context.
- Promotes hatred or violence against a protected group
Hate speech is content that promotes or encourages hatred or violence toward a group based on race or ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, veteran status, and sexual orientation/gender identity.
"Harmful dangerous acts" may include content which is depicts behavior likely to cause serious injury or death to a third party. Background on the SFLA Video
In June of 2008, a college woman volunteering for Students for Life of America entered the Charlotte, North Carolina Planned Parenthood clinic posing as a 15 year old who just had unprotected sex with her mother's live-in boyfriend who was in his 30s; she told the clinic workers that he suggested she come get the morning the Morning After Pill. According to N.C. Gen. Statue 7B-301 and 7B-101, this information was enough to trigger North Carolina statutory rape reporting laws, obligating any person who learned of this story to report the crime to authorities.
Planned Parenthood staffers acknowledged that what was happening to the girl was statutory rape and even admitted that they were required to report the incident.
However, after the visit, Students for Life of America filed a North Carolina Public Records Request to find out if the Planned Parenthood had reported the crime. SFLA has obtained and posted documents, which show that the crime were not reported to authorities. To view the report from police department, go here
Iher get addition to covering up the statutory rape of this young girl by failing to report, the Planned Parenthood was willing to help her get on birth control without her parents' knowledge, which would prolong the abuse while covering evidence. One staffer in even said to the girl, "You can do it now," and set an appointment for the minor to obtain birth control the following week.
Further, the staff told the girl that anyone over the age of 18 could simply go to a drug store and buy the Morning After Pill for her, giving he rapists a tool to further cover their crime of rape.
SFLA's Executive Director, Kristan Hawkins commented on the video on October 6th saying, "This video is simply shocking. That Planned Parenthood staffers acknowledged the girl was being raped and then did not report the crime is horrific. They allowed this young girl to go home to her rapists and even confirmed that her rapist could get the Morning After Pill for her to cover their crimes."

Grandmother, 72, violently attacked outside Nebraska abortion mill
The incident began on Friday, when two sisters arrived at the abortion clinic owned by the infamous partial-birth abortionist LeRoy Carhart. They were given literature, and Mary spoke to them about the abortion and some of the problems that Carhart has had, including his involvement in the third-trimester abortion death of 19-year old Christin Gilbert in 2005, at George Tiller's late-term abortion clinic in Wichita, Kansas.
The two girls questioned a clinic worker about the Gilbert death before they were hustled into the clinic. The girls later left the clinic without having gotten the abortion.
Police were summoned by the abortion clinic staff, who told the police that Mary and another pro-lifer, Larry Donlan, were "screaming" at the girls. Donlan had videotaped the encounter and told the officers that the accusations were absurd, and the video would prove it. The police then threatened Mary and Donlan with arrest.
Mr. Donlan, head of Rescue the Heartland, and a Truth Truck driver for Operation Rescue, gave the following report about what happened the following day:
Apparently after we had gone [on Friday], the girls left the mill only to return the next morning, this time with their mother who was furious that her daughter didn't have the abortion. She hurled threats and curses at the pro-lifers as they got out of the car. Mary was at the top of the stairs as usual, but because of the high fence, she couldn't see who it was that was coming. As the three women walked up the stairs from the parking lot, she said, "This is the worst thing you will do in your whole life. Your baby's heart is beating right now."
Upon hearing this the mother, went ballistic. Cursing and screaming, she rushed Mary, shoving her and knocking her down into the street. Mary fell backwards hitting her head on the concrete. The woman then went inside the mill leaving Mary lying in the street.

Colorado's personhood measure face uphill battle
National anti-abortion opposition groups aren't funding it. Colorado's anti-abortion Democratic governor, Bill Ritter, held a press conference on the Capitol steps to denounce it, joining the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Medical Society.
The executive director of the Colorado Catholic Conference, Jennifer Kraska, said the church believes life begins at conception. But Kraska said Catholics fear that the amendment's passage wouldn't end abortion but rather lead to judicial reaffirmation of abortion rights.
"We just don't think this is the best way to pursue the end of abortion," Kraska said.
Doctors warn they could be guilty or murder for helping a couple conceive a child using in-vitro methods that often require disposal of fertilized eggs. Ritter, who opposes abortion except in cases of rape, incest or medical emergency, said the state would pile up legal bills defending the amendment.
"It would create a legal nightmare," he said.

School did not violate student's rights by prohibiting pro-life leaflets in its hallways
, court says
The 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed a ruling by a federal judge in Detroit who had issued an injunction stopping Jefferson Middle School authorities from interfering with the First Amendment rights of an eighth-grade student and awarded the student nominal damages of $1.
The appeals court ruled the school did not bar the student's freedom of expression but merely regulated it. Though school officials did not grant permission for the student, identified only as Michael, to distribute leaflets in hallways, they did permit him to post them on school bulletin boards and make them available in the school lunch room, the appeals court said in a published opinion.
"The school district ... is entitled to put time, place, and manner restrictions on hallway speech so long as the restrictions are viewpoint neutral and reasonable," the court said.

SFLA's undercover investigation into the cover-up of statutory rape by Planned Parenthood in Charlotte and Winston-Salem, NC

Tom McClusky, Vice President of Government Affairs for the Family Research Council, responded to the investigation, "As long as Planned Parenthood puts their fealty to abortion on demand above protecting young girls from statutory rapists then investigations such as the ones done by SFL will be needed."

US cuts off Marie Stopes International in Africa
The State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development [..] said Thursday that they had told six African governments to stop giving U.S.-donated contraceptives to the British-based Marie Stopes International family planning organization for distribution to their needy populations.
The move affects Ghana, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe and follows a determination by USAID that the organization is a major player in a U.N. program in China that the administration says promotes coerced abortion and sterilization.
"Given these circumstances, USAID made the policy decision to inform governments in these countries that it does not want USAID-funded commodities to be provided to Marie Stopes International," the State Department, which oversees USAID, said in a statement.

Conservative lawmakers unveil plan to ban abortion in Utah
"We're tired of it. This group of legislators has had enough of the slaughter of innocents and we're going to step up and we're going to do something about it," said Rep. Carl Wimmer, R-Herriman.
Behind him, about 60 abortion opponents, many in town for a Catholic conference, held signs calling for protection for the unborn. A roughly equal number of pro-choice advocates stood behind them holding signs of their own.
"We are here to stand up for the unborn, to stand up against the dogs of hate who defend abortion on demand," Wimmer said.
The key bill in the package backed by the legislators would ban all abortions, except in cases of rape, incest or if the life or a bodily function of the mother is threatened. Rep. Stephen Sandstrom, R-Orem, said his bill will be nearly identical to one that failed in the 2007 session. [..]
"I have a duty to defend life," said Sandstrom. "I think it's reprehensible to suggest that defending life is a political gimmick."
